About the Artist

Jim Sharkey is a producer/director of historical documentaries and documentaries on artists, potters, and craftspeople. His work includes several award-winning videos on potters from the traditional pottery area of Seagrove, North Carolina; "Penobscot Basket Maker" about Maine Native American basket maker Barbara Francis; "Hard Work" a documentary about 19th century Maine women industrial workers; and "8 Weeks in March", a documentary about AIRE Theater, the American Irish Repertory Ensemble in Portland, Maine, as well as numerous training and informational videos produced for corporate and private organizations.
