About the Artist

A Modern Impressionist, Stan?s paintings portray `the mood of reality,? based on his personal interpretation, rather than technical reality. He seeks to capture the feeling of a place: the movement of air and light, and the textures of the landscape.



Stan currently teaches alla prima painting and landscape painting classes, as well as en plein air workshops in the Northeast. His paintings are represented in both private and corporate collections around the world.


Recent news: Stan is in the process of setting up the annual weeklong workshops on Monhegan Island, ME, which will take place Saturday, June 4 through Saturday, June 11. and another one Monday, September 5th through Monday, September 12th
