About the Artist

I began as a DRAWER! Then Printmaker, and eventually a graphic designer.

Necessity being the Mother of Invention...my husband and I launched our career as mural painters and I became involved with color, texture, the sum content of most faux finishes.

With the sun setting on the Golden Age of Illustration, I set aside my dream of being published and, focused instead on commission work, wallpaper designs, murals, ads, illustration, and learning the new techniques needed to produce the work at hand.

I found commercial art to be enriching&#59; challenging me to expand my knowledge and honed my instinctive interaction with the client, to create, in partnership, something that fulfilled their unarticulated dreams.

Recent projects have included illustrating a book, The Machias Patriots, for the Machias Historical Society in 2008.

In 2009 I was awarded a grant, from the Maine Arts Commission. This grant supports a body of paintings , expressing and depicting a longtime personal vision, the ''Energy of Water''....a constant theme throughout my entire life. That collection is will be on display in my gallery in Milbridge, Maine, July 26 - October 2009.
