About the Artist
Girouard''s art embodies an extensive study in the marriage of hot glue and crayons. This patented, innovative, multi-functional art medium is used as paint on canvases and other receptive surfaces. In essence the paintbrush is a glue gun and the paint is a blend of molten glue and crayons heated to extreme temperatures. Girouards work has been shown in numerous galleries throughout the US including exhibitions in NYC and Chicago. In 2005 Girouard''s art received an honorable mention from James Rondeau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Art Institute of Chicago. John Girouard is a self-taught artist who was born in Lewiston, Maine and now resides in Ossipee, New Hampshire and Eustis, Maine.
