About the Artist
As the trends and movements in photography seem to sway toward alternative techniques and digital imagery, my work captures the purity and natural beauty of the area through more traditional photographic methods.
I capture the majority of my images in black and white with a 5X7 Deardorff wooden field camera using the zone system for exposure. I develop and print all images using archival silver gelatin paper finishing them in selenium to bring out the richness and add to the archival qualities. Silver gelatin paper is created by combining silver bromide or silver chloride with gelatin. This produces a smooth surface on the paper, hence the name silver gelatin.
The basis for the pricing of my prints does take into consideration the above processes. However, it also directly reflects the size of the print being purchased. In addition, all my prints are from a numbered limited edition series, which directly increases the value of your purchase.
