About the Artist

Open Studio Days was organized to represent and support artists from Mount Desert, Cranberry and Swans Islands on the web. This web site will provide a collective place for the local artists to be sought out by visitors coming to the area, local residents looking to expand their art collection and potential buyers from all over the world to take a memory of Downeast Maine with them when they leave. Here the participating artists will show their work and the mediums they work in, where their studios are located and contact information.

Galleries will represent local artists on this site, as many artists do not have studios and sell their work at local galleries.

This event seeks to increase the visibility and recognition of Mount Desert, Swans and Cranberry Island artists through advertising in newspapers, radio and television, on other related web sites. This site is composed of professional visual artists with experience and dedication, and is open to other emerging artists who want to produce and show their work here. We do not place any restrictions on artists? art or media, content, or style of art, however, to participate in the Open Studio Days the artist must live on the island and/or have a studio to display their work. To be included on the web site, the artist must live in Downeast Maine.
