About the Artist

Through the study of architecture, children develop an understanding of design concepts and methods while developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. Residencies are developed with schools on an individual basis through teacher/architect collaborations, and can be integrated with the existing curriculum. School-wide projects such as a handbook of local architecture can be developed. Children analyze buildings in terms of space, material, graphic systems, interior layout and historical context, as well as learn to draw plans, make models and be critically aware of their environment.
