Visual Artist & Art Educator. MFA ~Boston University and BFA ~Kent State University Served on faculty of Boston University College of Fine Arts, Boston; Lesley College Creative Arts in Learning program, Cambridge, MA; Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Institute for Contemporary Art, Boston.
Served as Arts Research Associate at Harvard University, Graduate School in Education at Project Zero Institute, Cambridge.
Taught courses in: drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, graphic design, Portfolio and AP Studio Art courses at Brunswick High School, Maine and Ipswich High School, Massachusetts.
Awarded the 2015 Maine Art Teacher of the Year Award from Maine Art Education Association.
Primary Mediums: Drawing~ pencil, charcoal, ink; Painting~ oil paint, dry pastel, oil pastel Printmaking~ serigraphs, collographs, etchings, woodcuts; Collage ~ mixed media; Sculpture~ clay, porcelain.
Much of the inspiration for my work is drawn from my dreams, imagination and memory and focuses on figurative and narrative themes. Many of my drawings are based on observational study of landscapes, animals and figures during travels in Ireland, Wales, England, France and Italy.
Studio visits are welcome anytime. Private instruction for students of all ages.
