About the Artist

Alex Rheault is a local artist and writer, who uses drawing and writing to explore the origins of social structure, meaning, language, erotics of humanity through the visual and literary. Rheault is the director of Quimby Colony's Fashion, Costume, and textile Arts program, Chair of Illustration at Maine College of Art, the founder of drawing room (currently a roving project), and a ninja curator.

Rheault exhibits internationally, teaches privately, and is working on several upcoming projects and exhibitions. Her most recent works are erotic figures in charcoal and ink on large gessoed wood panel reviewed recently by Daniel Kany in October 2010. Rheault has curated over 15 exhibits in the last three years.
