About the Artist

Amy MacDonald is the author of over a dozen children''s books for all ages, including Little Beaver and the Echo, an international bestseller. Her non-fiction has been published in the New Yorker and the Times, and her first documentary film, On This Island, was shown on PBS''s Independent Lens in 2003. She has run writing workshops in elementary schools across the US, and has taught writing at Harvard University and UMaine Farmington. She is a member of the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts'' National Touring Roster, where she runs professional development workshops for teachers.
