About the Artist

Ellen has been among the forerunners of reviving the classical tradition of the architect who builds the residences she designs. To accomplish this Ellen has formed a construction division of her architectural design practice in which she builds the residences she designs.

By building her own designs, Ellen feels that the construction of the residences she designs can receive the same careful attention that she gives to the design itself. She has assembled master builders, craftsmen, and artisans expert in home crafting who will give a beautifully designed home the attention it needs and who appreciate that architectural construction is not construction in the ordinary sense, but gives as much attention to beauty as it does to structure and function.
