About the Artist

I received my MFA from Warren Wilson College and have taught at Colby College and Thomas College. My essays and stories have appeared in The New York Times, the Best American Sports Writing 1998, The North American Review, The Marlboro Review, the French journal Etudes, The Christian Science Monitor, and Crab Orchard Review (where my essay ""Radiation Blooms"" received the 2005 John Guyon Literary Nonfiction Prize). My work has also been anthologized in The Berkeley Women''s Literary Revolution: Essays from Marsha''s Salon, and The Way Life Should Be: Stories by Contemporary Maine Writers. ""The Quilt People"" is forthcoming in a collection of Maine Hospice stories, to be published by Down East Books in 2008.
