About the Artist

In this fourth phase of her life, Helen is writing memoir through poetry about the previous three. She is intentionally using writing as a way to integrate her experiences of growing up Franco-American, being a nun and leaving a long-term relationship. In December 2008 she self-published her first chapbook entitled ''Early Childhood Education: a Memoir Through Verse''.

She is a full-time legal advocate in family law and is working on a manuscript about domestic abuse entitled ''A Courageous Dance. Her essay ''Invited by Life'' was accepted for NPR''s ''This I Believe'' website.
