About the Artist

For several years now, Wave has been making a splash on the local music scene with their cool and kicked back style of jazz and bossa nova favorites.

Sweet, sultry and kicked-back, Wave has enjoyed playing to audiences at Bar Harbor''s Annual Jazz Festival, Schoodic Arts'' Last Friday Coffeehouse, the Maine Musicians'' Concert Series and in many of Eastern Maine''s restaurants, lounges and cafes.

Wave is also in regular collaboration with many of the area''s local musicians and able to form a variety of ensembles from duos to quintets for both special events and private parties.

Before retreating to Downeast Maine, vocalist and Glasgow, Scotland native Mary Spence has worked in both the U.K. and U.S. While in the London and Oxford areas, she performed with a number of bands and in genres as diverse as rockabilly, blues, swing and jazz. She also worked as a vocalist in the Boston area performing jazz and Latin styles with area circuit musicians. Spence is also a communications consultant and freelance writer.
