Joy Ribisi

About the Artist

Joy M. Ribisi originally hails from Long Island, NY. She works with the photographic image, concentrating mainly in Polaroid Transfers. Joy studied at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire where she received a BFA with a concentration in Photography. Tempted by warmer climates, Joy moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she spent her sunny days designing print ads for a women''s clothing store and taking photographs from the seat of her beach cruiser. After five years of smelling magolia flowers and taking time out to travel the world, Joy moved to Manchester, Maine to live her dreams of opening and running an artists'' retreat.

While moving through her days on this earth, Joy is constantly impressed by the stories that light tells of the objects it rests on. She enjoys trying to capture these stories like fireflies in a jar.
