About the Artist
Kathleen Daughan is an award winning artist working in pastel, acrylic, oil and paperpulp. Her primary subject matter is landscape - either real or imagined and she draws her inspiration from from the Maine environment. She paints en plein air as often as possible and is the plein air coordinator and board member of Pastel Painters of Maine. Kathleen studied with the famed Maine artist John Laurent at the University of NH where she obtained her BA. She has also worked with South Bristol pastellist Kathleen Galligan and the internationally known pastellist Albert Handell. Kathleen''s work is represented by the Boothbay Region Gallery in Boothbay Harbor. She also exhibits at Maine Women in the Arts shows, The Society of East End Arts (Portland) and at juried shows throughout the state. She is known for her lush landscape pastels often depicting the Maine marshes and for her creative paper pulp works of the imagination.
