About the Artist

After 35 years as a potter Rick is still amazed with the process of transforming balls of clay into works of art. He works with high fire porcelain, mid to high fire stoneware, low fire earthenware and Raku clay. He creates functional and decorative pottery which is admired for its simple yet classic lines.

The work is wheel thrown. Rick believes the work should speak for itself and when used decoration should compliment never dominate the piece. Surface color is achieved thru various firing and glazing techniques using glazes made in his studio on Peaks Island.
