Frigate

About the Artist

A rhythmic, improvising, powerhouse trio playing traditional fiddle music of New England, Ireland, Appalachia and beyond. The band is comprised of Steve Muise on Fiddle, Glen Loper on mandolin and banjo, and Fred White on guitar and percussion.

Frigate has played for weddings, parties, and contradances all over Maine and the east coast for 8 years.

All three members are instructors at Maine Fiddle Camp in Montville ME. Steve Muise teaches strings in Farmington ME. Glen Loper gives private lessons in mandolin and tenor banjo in Portland, ME. Fred White from Augusta also performs as part of the acapella group Improvox.
