About the Artist

I am a painter working primarily with acrylic on canvas or wood panel. The inspiration for my work is drawn from my immediate environment and experiences in Maine. I feel every landscape is unique and carries its own sense of energy and emotion. I strive to capture this uniqueness, without feeling obligated to be photo-realistic. Although I take liberties with expressive colors and gestural line, and use vigorous brushwork to communicate the spirit of the Maine landscapes that surround me, I endeavor to stay loyal to the essence of these places.
