About the Artist

Catherine T. Winship Potter, painter, proprietor of Waterstone Studio in Belfast, I create custom art on handmade stoneware tiles for installation. Recent work: landscapes and seascapes inspired by a lifelong love of coastal Maine. Typically, a client provides me with an idea of an image or ''view'' to portray within a specific space. I size, shape and paint tiles with mineral pigments achieving an effect reminiscent of watercolor. A commission for a large kitchen backsplash in the style of mid-1800s itinerant muralist Rufus Porter - collaborating artist, Tina Grivois - was recognized in 2006 by a Luxury Living Platinum Award for ''New England''s Most Beautiful Kitchen''.
