Wolfgang Ertl

About the Artist

Equally drawn to representational landscapes and to abstract compositions, Wolfgang Ertl has exhibited in various juried, small group and solo shows in New England. Media: pastel, oil, acrylics. A professor emeritus at the University of Iowa, he continues being involved in research in literary studies and serving as co-editor of Glossen, an online scholarly journal on literature and art in the German speaking countries. He has had a lifelong interest in art history and started studying art and practicing painting in his youth in Germany. Memberships: York Art Association, Kittery Art Asssociation, Art Guild of the Kennebunks (juried member), Pastel Painters of Maine, Pastel Society of New Hampshire, and New Hampshire Art Association (juried member).
