About the Artist

Hawk is an Eastern Woodlands flute-maker, composer, storyteller and humorist whose work is world renowned, appearing at the London Mozart Players, Quebec''s 400th Anniversary, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Hawk uses music, storytelling and humor to engage audiences, honor cultural diversity, and celebrate common humanity. Each of his handmade flutes has a unique voice, and is created with a single piece of wood, hand tools and fire. He enjoys working in Native and non-Native settings, including powwows, international events, public and private schools and universities, museums, performance venues, and flute-making workshops.
