About the Artist

I am a visual artist based in Portland, Maine. it is the potential for transformation and healing in creating and viewing art that interests me, as well as its potential to be an intersection between the sacred and the profane, the spiritual and the sensual. The appearance and tone of my work varies a lot depending on the body of work or needs of a commission. It can be bright and joyful, abstract in a closer colour range, edgy, playful, spiritual, sensual- but it all incorporates my interest in drawing,nature, healing, colour, and the spiritual aspect of art in some manner.

My individual work is balanced with work outside the studio making art with people in the community where I live. I have taught classes and workshops for ages 6 - adult in: drawing, mask making, painting (watercolour), Dia de los Muertos, altar & shrine making, mosaic mural making, and the art of living & dying (about creative ways to plan for and honor one's death).
