About the Artist
I try to balance my need to make something meaningful with my love of the old. Our throw-away society discards so many beautiful things. I believe there is a use for everything, and my job is to discover what that might be. Whether I'm using men's neckties to create a new seat for an old chair, or fashioning jewelry from found objects, I wholeheartedly support recycling.
I have sewn all my life. My first paid gig was making the high school cheerleader uniforms when I was 16. I have since branched out into other mediums. I apprenticed with a potter for a year, and I've earned my drafting certificate. What makes me smile is learning something new, using my hands, and creating beautiful things.
