About the Artist

Gia Comolli has written music for virtually every instrument, ensemble, and voice. Her work with young people includes music commissioned for the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. She received a grant from Chamber Music America for performances of Aesop's Duets in Lincoln County Schools, she has presented a course called "follow me" which is an improvisatory composition class at the River Tree Arts Festival. Gia has currently completed a work for the DaPonte String Quartet and narrator entitled String Play, which teaches children and even the lay person about strings. The premiere is in January. Following that, Gia and the quartet would like to perform the work. Gia performs her music and teaches young students about creativity with music. And, she is available to conduct some improvisation with children in the schools.
