About the Artist

Northern Tides, Inc. is a continually evolving art and gift gallery located on the commercial waterfront street in Lubec, Maine.

Northern Tides Art and Gift Gallery provides a forum for local artists, 98% of whom are women, to exhibit and sell art and fine crafts which reflect Down East Maine. Northern Tides' vision is to procure and promote art and fine crafts not available at other local galleries or gift shops.

We started out simply. After four years of trial and error, and a devoted clientele, Northern Tides has grown to represent over 60 Maine artists and artisans.

70% of the Gallery's artists and artisans are from within 30 miles of Lubec. Most others reside in the State of Maine, although a small handful are from Nova Scotia, right across the Bay of Fundy. And, as we have grown, we have begun to support local ecological endeavors, and women-centered free trade efforts.
