About the Artist
I moved to Maine in 1972 to live in the country, grow my own food, and paint rural scenes. I rarely paint in rectangles, favoring symmetrical shapes that combine arcs and straight lines: a circle inside a square, a square inside a circle, rectangles within or around elipses, semicircles, three-quarter circles, bowls, barrels, fans and flat-bottomed, planted hearts. I make large oil paintings and small greeting cards. I also wrote and illustrated the childrens' book "Honeybees at Home."
