About the Artist

Hallie Daughtry creates finely crafted ribbed baskets. She has considerable teaching experience at both the elementary and secondary levels. In her workshops, she introduces basic basketmaking skills using a variety of manufactured and natural materials. In longer visits, she explores the history of basketry comparative techniques of various cultures such as European and Native American, the use of natural dyes, the gathering and preparation of materials, and other construction methods.
