Michael Boardman

About the Artist

Michael Boardman is artist who focuses on the natural history and wilderness of Maine. He has lived in the state since the age of seven and received a studio art degree from the University of Maine at Orono. Watercolor is his medium of choice currently, due to it's ease of transport in backpacks or sea kayak. Michael often works out his compositions in the field, using a sketchbook and nature journal to record observations in the wild. Landscapes and wildlife are his themes of choice. Michael was selected to be the Visiting Artist at Baxter State park in 2010, and an Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park in 2012.
