About the Artist
Using egg tempera paint made from her own hens Amy Peters Wood knits together intersecting perspectives, near and far, above and below, before and after. These juxtapositions ultimately consolidate to form a single image, one perceived from an indeterminate vantage point.
Trained in both Veterinary medicine and art, Wood chooses a dialogue between her connection to all species of animals and a shifting perspective, creating planes which recede, tilt and plunge- reinforcing the feeling of a vastness in nature, and uncertainty to the spatial dimensions of the painting.
