About the Artist

Puppeteer storyteller Richard Merrill performs with his Bunraku-style character Nasruddin, telling wisdom tales from many cultures, and creates shadow puppets and performances based on Nasruddin stories and tales from his Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) heritage.

Merrill is a member of Puppeteers of America and UNIMA-US.

One of the videos shows Merrill performing in the wheelchair puppet theater he created through an Arts Visibility Grant from the Maine Arts Commission.
