About the Artist

The Innovative Media Research and Commercialization (IMRC) Center is a 15,000 sqft interdisciplinary research and experiential learning facility that supports the creative and innovative intersection of arts and humanities, sciences, and technology.

First opening in 2013, the IMRC Center was constructed with funding support from the Maine Technology Institute, The University of Maine, and the Intermedia MFA (Master of Fine Arts) Program. As a UMaine CORE (coordinated operating research entity) and a University Center, the IMRC is well-positioned within a thriving community of research, art, media, commercialization, entrepreneurship, and creative innovation.

Located within Stewart Commons on the University of Maine campus, the IMRC Center provides research and prototyping laboratories, makerspaces, audiovisual production spaces, performance spaces, and classrooms, each designed and staffed to welcome, support, and engage all learners.
