About the Artist

I've always had an interest in drawing and painting - anything creative, really. I've always loved being in the outdoors; there are so many different moods in nature. There are times when everything is calm, and times when it feels as though the earth is brooding.

My primary work is in egg tempera and watercolor, and I also do oils and Polaroid photography

I use fresh hen or duck eggs, natural earth, oxide, and mineral pigments to make the paint, and natural fiber brushes - including some that I've made - and my own gessoed panels.

My paintings start out as ideas or things I see, that spark the need to paint them. It could be the way the sunlight hits a field, or leaves lying on the ground. There?s always an underlying feeling, that is what I try to capture.
