About the Artist
Heidi Daub has exhibited her paintings widely throughout New England. A graduate of Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA, she combines in her work representational and abstract elements in innovative ways. Her work is housed internationally in private and corporate collections, and is represented in Maine through Gleason Fine Art and Artemis Gallery. Pieces Of Prayer, a solo exhibit featuring both her paintings and poems, with accompanying artist catalog, was presented at UMaine Machias in 2015. In 2008 she compiled Eve of A New Round, a compilation of original paintings and poems, and in 1999 was curator and participant in Inner Landscapes, Artists and Poets from Maine, featuring Maine women artists at Montserrat College of Art. Painter, poet, and curator, Heidi lives and maintains a studio in Blue Hill, Maine.
My paintings evolve from an introspection, and are like poems to me, coming out of an awareness, a sense. This remembering, this stilling, is where I go in my creative work. By opening to this reception, I am attempting to find form, color and movement to express what we cannot describe, but we feel; like divine, the deep forest place, water's essence, or the complexity and simplicity of love.
