About the Artist

I am interested in what motivates children and adults to learn, and in the power of the arts to change lives. I am an educator, presenter, visual artist, principal, arts administrator, and researcher. I am a reader, a photographer, a lover of movies, plays, good food, wine and conversation. My friends and family are vital. I am a frustrated democrat and a lover of nature, and heartsick over the environmental disasters we have created. I enjoy using and learning more about technology, blogging, digital media, and social networking. I want to learn to play the piano and to continue to create my own art. I love my husband who is my best friend.

I am Executive Director and I teach courses for teachers in Maine through the New England Institute for Teacher Education. I'm also Co-founder and Leadership Team member of the Maine Arts Leadership Initiative, a project of the Maine Arts Commission. I have presented at local and national conferences and consult for school districts around Maine. I love living on the Maine coast!
