About the Artist

A Maine native, I mostly grew up in the Portland area and am now living in Alfred, Maine. Some years back while doing an illustration project for the Wells Reserve & Laudholm Trust; I became interested in searching out and photographing our native wild flowers. These became my favorite subjects in pen & ink drawings. I began experimenting with etching/drawing on scratchboard and adding watercolor and colored inks to capture the beauty of those subjects. This technique produces very finely detailed images.. Now I use these techniques to produce non-objective art exploring the effects of fine lines and colors seeing what new effects of illusion and depth can be created using straight lines. I currently have a display area of work at my home which is open by appointment.
