About the Artist

Irene Dennis is an award-winning actor/director, originally from the Boston area. She studied in the professional musical theatre program at The Boston Conservatory. Since moving to Bangor she has made a number of appearances in Penobscot Theatre Company productions, as well as with Ten Bucks Theatre and the University of Maine Summer Music Theatre Festival.

She has also taught acting and stagecraft for many years, working with both children and adults. Most recently she has taught acting for both Bangor and Orono Adult Education. For ten years she has facilitated the Bangor Public Library Play Reading Group. From 2018-2022 Irene served in multiple board positions, including President, of Bangor Community Theatre, and has directed numerous productions for them, most recently their Spring 2023 production, "Enchanted April" (Bangor premiere).
