About the Artist

Handmade books offer a wonderful opportunity to enhance curriculum while exploring a variety of creative processes. Beginning as an exercise in writing or math, or as a visual poem or small theater, the books may fit in the hand or stretch 20 feet! Anne-Claude is a veteran teacher who enjoys fitting projects to specific situations and works closely with teachers to create optimum experiences for their students. Residencies and teacher in-service or student workshops may include a combination of bookmaking tasks, from drawing, printmaking, paper decoration to creative writing, pinhole photography, pop-up structures and bookbinding.
Anne-Claude opened in Spring ''05 a gallery and center for experimental photography, printmaking and artist books. The year-round workshops are held in a large, new facility next to her home and are for children, adults developing their creative expression as well as practising artists and art teachers.
