About the Artist

The Portland String Quartet is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the 2018-19 season. Throughout its history of national and international tours and more than two dozen recordings, the PSQ has received rave reviews from The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe.The Quartet was honored in 2013 with Chamber Music America's "Acclaim Award" for "outstanding service and cultural contributions to the community" They were proclaimed "Maine Treasures" by Colby College. Violinists Dean Stein, Ronald Lantz (founding member), violist Julia Adams (founding member), and cellist Andrew Mark continue to celebrate the artistry and beauty of Maine throughout the world and through concerts and teaching here in Maine.
