About the Artist

Our mission statement:
We are a Maine gallery striving to help Maine Artists successfully market their art.

GreenWood Gallery of Maine was founded in 2014. The building itself belonged to the owner’s great-grandfather and was used for a workshop. The building is where Mathias Auger and his son, Arthur J. Auger would sit and plan out the chores of the day. It is where Arthur engineered the first expansion dock to be used on the west shore of Lake Auburn. Auger’s Landing is where the ferry’s traveling from the west shore to the west shore would dock to drop off and pick up passengers who worked in the west Auburn shoe shop and dairy farms. This building was also used during hunting season as a gathering place for hunters to warm up as well as butcher their prize kill.
Now the building has been retired to the old Danville community where Mathias Auger’s great-grand daughter, Anita F. Poulin, uses the building to exhibit the fine art produced by artists with connections to the state of Maine. To exhibit with GreenWood Gallery, you need to be born a Mainer or be living in the state of Maine.
