About the Artist

Giant puppets and masks, tall stiltwalkers, wild drummers, huge assemblages of color, costume, and sound are all part of the Shoestring entourage. Shoestring uses the tradition of comedy, carnival, pageantry, and politics to produce its own style of neighborhood theater. Using volunteers from the community, Shoestring brings a ready-made giant parade to schools, communities, and civic groups. Shoestring also performs a classic handpuppet show, Punch and Judy and conducts workshops in masks and handpuppets.
