Susan Tobey White

About the Artist

Susan is a full time working artist and art educator in Maine. Her work is constantly praised for the feel-good energy.

She worked as an elementary art teacher for 15 years, participating in art shows during the summer. When she stopped teaching she opened High Street Studio & Gallery in Belfast where she showed her own work and that of others for 15 years. You may now see her work at her downtown studio which is open by appointment or chance. She is also willing to give virtual tours of her work.

Susan teaches Acrylic Painting workshops traveling the East Coast to do so. She is certified through Golden Acrylics, Inc and Silver Brush as one of their Artist Educators. She is also offering private virtual classes.

She is known for her acrylic paintings of faceless dancers, food series and Maine scenes.
Her most recent body of work, Lobstering Women of Maine, depicting real women and their stories, was on display at the Penobscot Marine Museum during their 2019 season.
