Loretta McClellan

About the Artist

Loretta McClellan is an award-winning artist and graphic designer. She founded McClellan Creative in 1992 to serve businesses and nonprofits, and art collectors worldwide.

Emphasizing her roots in Fine Art in painting—primarily watercolor—and Graphic Design, with design specialties in book cover design and corporate identity/logo design, Loretta participates in design reviews, and gallery and art shows, winning awards.

Loretta has taught Art professionally for all ages, as well as volunteered in K-8 schools as an Arts and Art History Instructor. With a degree in Fine Art, Studio Practice, and studies in California, Hawaii, and Japan, Loretta partners with her husband in stained glass, art glass, and architectural art glass designs with his studio. Loretta also works in jewelry design, textile and fiber art, and has worked previously in small metal sculpture, metalsmithing, wood carving, the traditional Japanese indigo dye-resist art of Shibori, and landscape and garden design. She enjoys teaching and offering workshops that partner Fine Art with the Literary and/or Meditative Arts.

In addition to her Fine Art and Design pursuits, Loretta is a writer, journalist and six-time author (writing as Loretta Boyer McClellan); an award-winning lyricist; and amateur musician. Her words and images have been featured in numerous publications and venues; several of her lyrics have been put to music by others and performed by soloists, duets, trios and choirs around the world.

Loretta has called the Bold Coast of Downeast Maine her home and an abundant source of inspiration for over 20 years.

Loretta currently does not participate in Fine Art commissions.
