Libby Sipe

About the Artist

Working primarily in oil and acrylic paints, Libby Sipe explores a world of dreamlike reality through playful colors and shifting layers of deep emotion within her brushstrokes. Libby applies a multitude of painterly techniques to capture the essence of a surreal world where dreams and reality coexist.

Primarily a self taught artist, Libby has had the great fortune to have an artist as a mother who introduced her to a plethora of creative processes, techniques, and styles at an early age. Libby grew to appreciate and find inspiration within the movements of post expressionism through many day trips to museums and studying art history books in her youth.

A selection of her works were published in Boomer Magazine in 2020, and she has been involved in a number of group and solo exhibitions. Originally hailing from Ohio, Libby now resides in a small town situated in Southern Maine. She lives and creates in a peaceful setting of pine trees and rocky outcrops with her husband Kevin, their daughter, and cat.
