About the Artist
The Shaker Museum is situated on Route 26 in New Gloucester, ME. The Museum is part of the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, the last active community of Shakers in the United States. The Museum offers a wide array of programs to educate interested people in the Shaker way of life- tours, exhibits, lectures, crafts demonstrations and workshops, publications, special events. All of these programs are available at Sabbathday Lake and many are available off-site in schools and for civic groups and organizations. The extensive museum collection of the Shaker material culture is available for research. The Shaker Library contains one of the largest Shaker library and archive collections in the country- they are also available for research.
