What will the future be like for nonprofit arts organizations? Strengthening community engagement, inclusion, and organizational health have long been on the minds of nonprofit arts leaders around the country. The global COVID-19 pandemic and the national conversation about racial justice and equity make such questions even more urgent.

To help explore these questions, The Wallace Foundation invites you to the launch of its arts webinar series, Reimagining the Future of the Arts, on Wednesday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The series brings together a diverse set of leading experts in the field to facilitate conversations around some of the most pressing issues facing the arts sector today, grounded in research commissioned or supported by Wallace.  We hope these discussions, which are free of charge, will inspire new ideas and innovative approaches for the months and years ahead.

Building on The Wallace Foundation’s work in developing evidence-based resources for the field, each discussion will begin with key findings from research by the Foundation’s partners including LaPlaca Cohen, Slover Linett, SMU DataArts and AEA Consulting, and others. Designed to be helpful to nonprofit arts practitioners from organizations of all sizes at varying stages of re-opening, as well as policy makers, artists and future leaders, the 60-minute interactive sessions will include insights from visual and performing arts leaders who are navigating these challenges in real time.

The first session will pose the question “What do audiences expect from the arts and how can organizations respond?” The session will begin with a brief overview of key findings from  A Special Edition of Culture Track, presented by Arthur Cohen of LaPlaca Cohen.  A panel discussion moderated by Artnet critic Ben Davis will follow, featuring insights from Kate Maguire, artistic director and CEO of the Berkshire Theatre Group; Lisa Richards Toney, president and CEO of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals; and Franklin Sirmans, president and CEO of the Pérez Art Museum in Miami.

Registration is free. To register, please click here. Each session will also be recorded and available for later view.

Upcoming Reimagining the Future of the Arts webinar dates follow below, and additional details will be available in the coming weeks. All sessions will take place at 1:00p.m. ET.
