Artists Travel Assistance Fund is a travel subsidy award program to assist U.S.-based Indigenous* performing artists with building partnerships and networking with other artists or presenters, through showcases, conferences, or other related professional development activities that will lead to future presenting and touring opportunities. Travel assistance funds are not to be used by artists to research and develop new work; however, they may be used to promote work to potential presenters that is recently completed or will be tour ready within 12 months. Artist Travel Assistance Fund awards are not to be used as reimbursement for touring expenses.

* In AIP forms and documents, the term Indigenous refers to Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian, as well as Native/First Peoples of Canada, Mexico, and U.S. Territories of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Awardees will be selected by a panel of six Indigenous performing arts professionals from across the country. Announcement of awardees will be made on December 2, 2019.

Please see the application Guidelines page for information on eligibility requirements and application process. For additional support and questions please contact AIP Program Manager, Ed Bourgeois at ebourgeois@westarts.org.
