Announcing TheatreTeacher.org!

Teralyn Reiter, local Teaching Artist, Actor, and Playwright, is excited to announce TheatreTeacher.org, a comprehensive online resource for teachers, students, and families looking to bring more theatre arts experiences into their classrooms and homes.

TheatreTeacher.org provides teachers with completed arts-infused lessons that puts learning directly in the hands of the students. Each lesson plan combines standards based curriclum with engaging theatre activities and culminates with student created performances and plays. In doing so, students build a deeper understanding of vocabulary and concepts, while developing the creative and critical thinking skills. The lesson plans work with our one-of-a-kind Playwright's Pal, an online playwriting tool that helps storytellers of all ages create and share their stories in play.
But that's not all!

Theatreteacher.org also provides Historical Performances, an online experience that shares professional actors performing historical figures who helped shape our world today. Each performance has a correlating lesson plan that allows students to dig deeper and learn more about these extraordinary humans of history.

TheatreTeacher.org was developed through Teralyn's 25 years of teaching theatre in classrooms throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. It is founded on the principles that students learn better through the arts. As students engage their bodies and their creativity in their school work, they become critical thinkers who have true understanding of the concepts, not just the ability to regurgitate information. Furthermore, TheatreTeacher.org supports teachers, schools, and families in their efforts to create more arts-infused lessons by offering proven theatre activities that can be used to teach vocabulary, figures from history, and more.

Teralyn is always available to work with teachers to develop classroom-specific lesson plans and in-school Artists Residencies. As she says, "we are here to support teachers. Give us your lessons your tired of teaching, and we will put a new spin on them."
