Help Assess the Need for Arts Facilities + Infrastructure in Maine

The Cultural Affairs Council of Maine (The Maine Arts Commission, Maine State Museum, Maine State Library, Maine State Archives, Maine Historic Preservation, Maine Humanities Council, and Maine Historical Society) has been in the early stages of conversation with the Legislature about a possible Cultural Facilities Infrastructure Bond.

Although the discussions at this point are quite preliminary, the concept is that the Legislature would look to seek approval for a fund of between $10 and $20 million to be used to help address the infrastructure needs of our state’s cultural facilities.

The Maine Arts Commission would like to get out ahead of this effort and begin to gather information on the current needs of arts facilities throughout the state.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey to let us know of your current and anticipated infrastructure needs, and to share with us where you are in the planning stages for addressing those needs.

Infrastructure can include bricks and mortar, facility safety and efficiency upgrades, or needed projects such as major equipment purchases, or technical needs such as the transfer of a collection to digital files.

Infrastructure does not include the hiring of staff or supporting events.
