Common Street Arts Annual Holiday Bazaar

Common Street Arts is pleased to present its 5th annual Holiday Bazaar. Prior to the winter holidays, the gallery will be transformed into a marketplace filled with handmade items created by Maine artists and craftspeople through this juried exhibition. The most unique holiday gifts will be available at Common Street Arts!
This call for fine art + craft is open to all artists and craftspeople. If you throw mugs, make ornaments and cards, design jewelry, knit hats, or create other imaginative gift items, we invite you to participate. All artists will be paid a 60% commission; Common Street Arts Artist Level members will be paid a 70% commission.

Submission Review:  August 15 + 16
Notification:  September 1
Drop-Off:  November 2 + 3, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Special Members + VIP Preview Sale:  November 14, 5:00 – 6:30pm
Opening Celebration: November 15, 5:00 – 7:00pm
Bazaar Dates: November 15 – December 23
Pick-Up: January 8 + 9, 10:00am – 4:00pm

ENTRY FEE: $25 for non-members. Fee can be paid online through the CSA website; by credit card, or by check made payable to Common Street Arts.

REQUIRED SUBMISSION MATERIALS:
• This is a juried exhibition and all images submitted must be of the items that will be available for sale and display
• Up to five, high-resolution digital images of sample available items
• Complete caption information for each image including title, media, dimensions
(h x w x d), year completed, and price
• Contact information: name, mailing address, phone, email
• Email all information in ONE email to: submit@watervillecreates.org.  Subject line: Holiday Bazaar 2017/artist’s last name”

INSURANCE AND SALES
Common Street Arts will provide insurance coverage for work while on the premises for market value. Artists will be responsible for insurance of work in transit.  Participants with an Artist Level membership will receive 70% commission on work sold, 60% for non-members. Checks will be processed and mailed by January 10, 2018.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Participating artists will agree to allow Common Street Arts to photograph work while on display for educational and publicity purposes. Images of accepted works will be retained by Common Street Arts for promotional purposes, posting on the Waterville Creates! and Common Street Arts’ websites, and sharing with media outlets. Common Street Arts may create a digital catalog and/or an online version of the exhibition using images of accepted work.

Holiday Bazaar Hours
Holiday Bazaar dates are November 15 – December 23, 2017.  Gallery hours will be extended for this exhibition.  An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2017 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, special preview night will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2017.
